Google Pixel x NBA - 23/24 Campaign
Role: Creative Director Agency: The Robot Company
Welcome To The Pickup.
To kick off Google Pixel’s 3-year NBA sponsorship, we partnered with them to introduce their latest product to hoops fans in a way that felt fresh and authentic to basketball culture. Inspired by the summer’s viral pick-up runs and the raw joy of spontaneous streetball, we created a campaign rooted in the most inclusive form of basketball: the pick-up game. It was the perfect setting to introduce Pixel’s new roster of #TeamPixel athletes and tell a story that connected helpful tech to real community moments.
We brought the concept to life with a star-studded short film directed by DAPS, turning a neighborhood court into the ultimate playground run. Giannis, Tatum, Embiid, Candace Parker, Jalen Green, Kelsey Plum, and more pulled up—joined by cultural icons like Druski, Simu Liu, Richard Jefferson, and Taylor Rooks, plus deep-cut legends like Bobbito and Jimmy Goldstein. Every frame was packed with easter eggs, high energy, and heart—crafted as a love letter to the game and its fans.
The film dominated NBA Opening Night and instantly plugged Google Pixel into basketball culture with credibility and joy. With massive reach, strong reception, and countless shoutouts from the community, we gave Pixel its first big basketball moment— and followed it up with a season-long campaign that reinforced their bonafides to hoops fans everywhere.
